Day by Day Itinerary

  • DAY 1 -TURIN

    Arrival in Turin airport. Meeting with your private driving guide and transfer to Turin, a generally ignored destination full of interesting attractions. Check in at your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure to relax and to discover the city on your own. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant and overnight. Overnight in Turin.


    SPECIALS:

    Special dinner based on local specialties at the Restaurant “Garamond”, famous for its typical cuisine.


    DO NOT MISS:

    • Turin’s Baroque cafés and arcaded shopping promenades.
    • Local coffee-houses and cake shops, where you can taste the best qualities of Italian chocolate.
  • DAY 2-TURIN CITY CENTRE

    In the morning meet your licensed local guide and enjoy a half-day guided walking tour of the city with its main artistic and historical highlights, all consequences of Savoy family domination. Lunch at leisure. Balance of the day at leisure to enjoy Turin elegant atmosphere and to discover its interesting museums. Overnight in Turin.


    TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

    • Via Roma, the city’s most elegant shopping street.
    • Palazzo delle Scienze, that hosts the Galleria Sabauda, the private collection of Savoy Dukes hosting a large selection of Flemish works.
    • The Mole Antonelliana, the monument symbol of Turin.

    • The Cinema museum, a modern and interactive museum where to take a journey throughout cinema history.
    • A bicerin, the typical hot beverage based on coffee, cream and chocolate, served in the elegant cafés of Turin
  • DAY 3-THE ROYAL PALACE

    In the morning meeting with your local guide for an half day excursion to La Venaria Reale, the Savoy residential palace. Return to Turin in the afternoon and time at leisure for shopping or to savour a caffe or cioccolata at the most famous café of the city. In the evening, transfer from Turin to Asti, the capital of white sparkling wine. Dinner on own and overnight in Asti.


    TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

    • The Venaria Reale, designed in 1658 for Duke Carlo Emanuele II, with its Gallery of Diana, the lemon-house, the Sant’Umberto galleries and chapel, that make it the “Versailles” of Turin.
  • DAY 4- ASTI, SPUMANTE AND MOSCATO

    Meeting with the local guide in hotel lobby in Asti in the morning and tour of the area. Lunch on own in Asti city center. In the afternoon, enjoy a visit to one of the most renewed wineries of Canelli, located among the vineyards which produce Moscato and Spumante d’Asti. Afterwards, visit a local wine bar with wine and local desserts tasting. Return to the hotel in Asti region. Diner on own and overnight.


    TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

    • Asti city centre, very rich in medieval palaces and merchant houses, many with monumental towers. The town was known as the city of 100 towers of which several still remain today within the old city walls.
    • Asti cathedral, built in the 13th century, one of the biggest in Piedmont, in Romanesque-Gothic style.
    • BThe Synagogue with the Jewish museum depicting the history of Asti’s Jewish community, whose presence is documented since 812.

    SPECIALS

    • The historic wineries of Canelli, built underground and part of the UNESCO heritage.
    • Wine tasting and hazelnut cake tasting at the Mango Castle wine bar.

    DO NOT MISS:

    • Asti’s Palio, taking place in September and representing an important medieval tradition.
  • DAY 5-BAROLO AND LAKE ORTA

    In the morning enjoy a panoramic drive on your own along scenic roads and reach the village of Barolo to visit the original Corkscrew Museum. Lunch in an exclusive restaurant, with wine cellars visit to follow. Later in the afternoon arrival at Orta and check in at your hotel : enjoy the superb natural setting of Lake Orta, the most romantic of all the Italian lakes. Visit of the Lake on own. Farewell dinner and overnight in Orta.


    TOUR HIGHLIGHTS:

    • The Corkscrew museum, an original exhibition of 500 corkscrews from all over the world, produced since the second half of the 1600s.
    • Visit of Orta lake, with St. Giulio’s island and characteristic panorama.

    SPECIAL:

    • Exclusive lunch at the Restaurant “Gagliardo”, one of the very best Barolo producers of the region, with visit to the cellar included.

    DO NOT MISS:

    • The interesting wine museum in Barolo, in the exclusive frame of Faletti castle.
  • DAY 6 – CHECK OUT

    Breakfast and check out. Transfer to Malpensa airport on your own and departure. Overnight.
